| A warm fire brings people together. A wood-fired oven is often the centre of family and community, a centuries old way of cooking and sharing good food together. Making a traditional earth oven together is a way to rekindle the fire of community and provide a bakery resource for the centre. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
We will: | Learn
from different traditions, (N.American, European, African), Gather, prepare and work with rock, earth and clay, Build a man-sized heat sink base from stone and shingle, Construct a dome with sand and clay. Bake some bread! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

renewable energy wood-fired earth oven is a traditional means of cooking if all
else fails. When people and friends gather together it is also a means of sharing
a most natural cooking experience. You
will also have great opportunities to enjoy fine walks and beautiful countryside,
appreciate the centre and what it offers, share fireside entertainment, discover
