Learning Sustainable Lifestyle Skills

How to Build...
A COMPOSTING TOILET!

To put no finer point on it, the greatest cure to human dis-ease happens when we start putting our compost back where it belongs and not in the water! In the East their hu-manure was highly valued. In the West the landed gentry used their motes as their toilet - and we went along with it!

What is a Compost Loo or Tree? What materials can I use to make one? Is composting humanure safe and healthy? What's the bottom line?

This is a practical experience for people who are interested in living more self-reliant and sustainable lifestyles and an opportunity to help take a giant leap for mankind.

2 day Workshop Venue:
Dates:
Cost: £45, plus food and accom.

We will:

discuss the merits of Tree Loos (wet land) and Compost Loos (dry land),
learn about natural (external) and domestic (internal) composting options,
recyling and composting as a whole,

We will investigate the site for suitability and design for dry composting or wet land use with willow. You will have the opportunity to help build a composting toilet out of recycled materials and be able to make wise choices for the benefit of your home environment and the earth's ecology as a whole.

You will also have the opportunities to enjoy the centre and what it offers, share fireside entertainment, discover more about yourself and natural sustainable living.
