Price: £2.30p + 41p to cover postage and packing = £2.71p

JEREB22. ARC-STOP

When using electric arc welding the welding rod often "sticks" to the metal. It can be removed by moving from side to side and pulling. However there is a chance that as the rod is removed away it will strike nearby metal. This is a particular problem when working under a car. The Arc-stop unit cuts of the power to the rod using a small low voltage switch attached to either the rod or face mask and therefore stops the rod from arcing. It can be used with most electric arc welding units.

Price: £1.50p + 41p to cover postage and packing = £1.91p

ALT2SEG. RECIPROCATING STEAM ENGINE PLANS

This plan shows you how to build a stram engine capable of powering a 1KW alternator. It includes a full description of the construction of all the sections of the plant. (1) SOLAR RADIO - How to modify radio receivers to run using solar energy.

Do not attempt to work on any appliance which is or can be connected to Mains Voltage, unless you know what you are doing or are supervised by someone who does.

A radio which works only with batteries is recommended to avoid any problems. Batteries have safe voltage levels. Larger sizes can supply a very big current in the event of a fault. Always use a suitably rated fuse placed as close as possible to the battery terminal. Be careful of short circuits with any metallic item nearby or worn personally.

(2) SOLAR BATTERY CHARGER - Simple battery charger for Ni-Cad cells.

This "do it yourself" design will charge 'AA', 'C', and 'D' type Ni-Cad rechargeables in sets of 4 with the recommended solar panel size as shown below. Batteries will not be damaged or overcharged but do not leave any of the sizes especially the AA-750mA fast charge, C-1200mA, D-1200mA or 4000mA. If using AA-500mA batteries be sure to limit the charge time in sunny weather. When in use experience will soon show the appropriate time needed to recharge your batteries in the weather conditions prevailing at that time of year.

Kits are available from Rainbow Solar Trading, or from Keysolar Systems.
